Idaho’s oldest ski area, open since 1935, Lookout Pass is known as the state’s snowiest resort, averaging 450 inches a year. Perched right off I-90 at Exit 0, it’s one of the most accessible mountains in the country — no long drive required. Skiers and riders come for impeccably groomed runs, a laid-back family atmosphere, and affordable lift tickets (save more by reserving ahead). The resort also offers pro-led group and private lessons, daily and season equipment rentals, kids’ racing programs, and a lively bar scene after the lift closes.

Notes & Operating Schedule
Lookout Pass operates the longest running FREE Ski School for kids in the country. Program operates on 8 weekend dates with a separate morning and afternoon offering by skill level. Program provides a FREE 1.5 hour Lift Ticket while the child (ages 7-17) is in their lesson, and a FREE 1.5 hour Lesson. We certainly want the kids and parents to commit to coming every weekend so that their skill stays on par with the other students in the class. We certainly encourage families to buy our affordable Season Passes & Season Long Rentals so they can enjoy more time before and after their lessons on snow. In the Summer Lookout operates the Hiawatha Scenic Bike Trail, featuring a 15 mile gently downhill bicycle trail that has you pedaling through 10 dark tunnels and 7 sky-high old RR Trestles.
